Bio

Originally from Gilmer, Texas Desiree LaNiece got into the spot light at a young age. At the mere age of 8 months she was entered into her first beauty pagent taking the gold as her prize. Her mother and father Steve & Debra Jones played an amazing role in her earlier years. They would continue to enter her into pagents until the age of 4, where she picked up a unexpected fasinaction for nhra drag racing. By age 5 her childhood dream of being a drag racer dwindled, when her parents suddenly moved to Houston, Texas. Temporarily tucking her dream away, Desiree begin dancing at age of 7, with no knowledge that her passion for dance would grow. 

 

Through out her grade school years, Desiree got her basic training through joining her school dance company in the Aldine ISD school district. It wasnt untill she joined her high school drill team under the direction of Valerie Beall that Desiree into a fierce young dancer. She also begin attending dance conventions and workshops to train with celebrity dance choreographers from all around the world such as; Misha Gabriel, Travis Wall, Nappy Tabs, Brian Friedman, Darrin Henson , IaMmE Crew, Shane Sparks and many more. These people helped mold her dancing until she would graduate with worries of what was to come next.  

 

Before graduating, Desiree would be pursuaded to attend a Houston Rockets dance prep class with her classmates having no idea what would happen next. The spontaneous young dancer was personally invited by the current dance coach of the Rockets to try-out for the 2013-2014 Houston Rocket Power Dancers. Appearing to the tryouts where she would be chosen to be an official Rocket Power Dancer for that year. Desiree went on to be a dancer for the Houston Rockets for 3 years, networking with tons of important people establishing a dynamic image for herself.  

 

Today, As a full time college student Desiree LaNiece is a amazing woman.This 3 time NBA dancer and creative director has been established as one of Houston's top dance choreographers. Teaching several styles of dance to others at studios such as Millennium Sugar Land, Sound Box, and Cypress Dance Project. With the experience of peforming on stages in Mexico City, Argentina, Sport Center and Oprah Winfrey's tour "The Life You Want". Desiree continues to choreograph for music artist and regional competitive dance teams. Want to know more?
